Founded in 1891, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is consistently hailed as one of the greatest orchestras in the world. The world-renowned CSO, Riccardo Muti and distinguished guest artists perform an enthralling variety of music, from immortal masterworks to surprising discoveries. The ensemble makes its home at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and plays a summer season at the Ravinia Festival. The music director is Riccardo Muti, who began his tenure in 2010.
